Historically, many ski areas in New England have not drawn in the large numbers of crowds as places like Tahoe or other ski areas on the western side of the country. However, with the US economy on the upswing, the coming Winter Olympics and a promising snow outlook in many New England states, many of the area’s ski resorts are hopeful for a great season.

For skiers in the northern US, many Michigan ski resorts were slow to open this past December. Despite many disagreeable weather conditions on the part of mother nature, three of northern Michigan’s largest ski areas are now open to the public, and are expected to bring in record numbers of visitors to area ski resorts this year.
